Now Playing: Lost Odyssey
Towards the end of the week last week I went ahead an picked up a game called Lost Odyssey for the Xbox 260. When I walked into the store I had little knowledge about this game. Only thing I knew about it was the trailers I saw and a video review I had watched on GameSpot. But as far as the story of the game I only knew the basics. Which, yes, is a good thing I guess. But, little did I know that this game was going to blow my mind within the first 10 minutes of playing. As soon as the opening scene starts you are sucked in.
Oh yeah, and did I mention it's on 4 DVD discs! I'll give a more proper review when I've made my way through what I can only imagine to be many, many, many hours of gameplay.

Best Buy HD DVD Sale
Well, unless you've been living under a rock you may have heard that HD DVD took a huge hit over the last few weeks with big movie companies going Blu-ray exclusive followed by Netflix offering only Blu-ray rentals and Best Buy putting an emphasis on Blu-ray when selling to the customer. So, unless a miracle comes along, it's safe to say HD DVD is probably on it's way out.
Now, while that's bad news for people that own HD DVD's (myself included) at the same time it's good news. Why? Because retailers are bound to have crazy sales on there HD DVD stock. In comes Best Buy, because of there decision, it looks like they are starting those sales as now you can get a selection of HD DVD's at a 2 for 1 discount. Not too shabby, but unfortunately it's only on select titles.
I just hope that by the time this is over, I will have a small collection of cheap HD DVD's to at least make it worth the cost of my HD DVD player. Which, by the way, I'm totally glad I went with the cheaper option and bought the Xbox 360 HD DVD player add on rather than an extremely expensive stand alone player.
UPDATE: Well ok then. Shortly after I wrote this I found out that Wal-Mart has also dropped HD DVD and it's rumored that Toshiba (the leading manufacturer of HD DVD players and one of its largest supporters) is possibly going to announce they are throwing in the towel. Crappy.
